I've read all of Barry's stories here on TLO, and this is the best one yet. I admire writers who can deliver a big payoff with a minimum of verbiage (darn that short attention span!), and Barry has succeeded in doing that with this tale. Very impressive, Barry.

wow.....

..um ... Barry? I don't really live in Wisconsin. I live somewhere else, yeah that's it ......somewhere else. :)

I think Dr. Zirk's comment hit it right on the head.

Hmmmm...... maybe that's a bad choice of words.

Nice story, Barry. As with "Warm Milk," I enjoyed the way you employed a very low-key and even minimalist tone on the way to arriving at a shocking narrative climax, which was likewise related in a rather offhand, subdued manner. I've always found this to be a sophisticated and effective narrative technique. Kudos to you, says I.

Whenever I read a short story by Barry, I start to wonder whether it has been written by the same innocent inconspicuous person that chats with TLO members in the Bungalow House.
Collection is a truly disturbing piece, especially the fact that it has been written in the first person. Good job, Barry. You really have a talent of stepping into somebody's shoes - no matter how sick that person might be!

And thank you, Slawek, I think. Evil grin.
