Re: Borges: "Most Important 20th Century Writer"?
"The Gospel According to St. Mark" struck me at the time as having a lot in common with the Dylan Thomas story "The Tree" (which I believe pre-dates the Borges by quite a few years). It's been a while, though, so I can't exactly spell out how or why.
Has anyone else read both stories?
