Ah, it's nice to finally have closure re: that question. I always found it odd anybody would include The Terror over The Great God Pan. The former is an alright story with an excellent climax, but 'Pan' is typically genius 1890s Machen.
I have also criticised the Tales of Horror and the Supernatural book for including The Terror over A Fragment of Life, which Joshi to his credit judiciously included in the Penguin book.
