Nick has an earlier novel, "
The Primal Screamer", that was first published in 1995. A while back, I picked up a 2002 reissue from Spare Change Books.
I regret that it is still in my growing To Read pile, but looks quite interesting. The link above leads to scans of the interior artwork, among other things.
Rudimentary Peni are a staggering band. If you can get your hands on their first couple of 12" records, they come housed in fold-out paper sleeves, like other Crass Records releases. When unfolded, you are staring at a large piece of complex, bewildering, and downright creepy art - it must be seen to be appreciated. I liked it enough to buy a second copy of
Death Church in my youth so that I could hang the poster up on my wall. This is just the front cover:
Oh yeah, besides the art you get weird, chugging English punk rock of the finest variety. CDs are still pretty easy to get, but don't have the same visual impact...
