Basil Copper, I wouldn't mind taking another look at.
I bought the hardcovers of Darkness, Mist & Shadow - The Collected Macabre Tales of Basil Copper from PS Publishing. The stories were entertaining in a charming old English way but there was a ridiculous number of misprints and, judging by a comment on Amazon, this hasn't been corrected for the paperback editions.
