Good choice. Those Grimms have any number of tales apt for this thread. That same site you link to above has a sizeable selection of their work, including my personal favorite of theirs 'The Juniper Tree'. Disturbing!

He said I was his friend

I've always liked that Bowie was inspired by this poem, especially as it seems to be from the perspective of the 'Man Who Was Not There' in the original poem.

That is exceptionally cool, bud. Had no idea... You've kind of been on fire today! Great thoughts...

Re: Creepy Nursery Rhyme/Tale of the Day

A French nursery rhyme:

"Ainsi font, font, font,
Les petites marionnettes,
Ainsi font, font, font,
Trois p'tits tours et puis s'en vont.
(...)
Et elles danseront,
Les petites marionnettes,
Et elles danseront,
Quant les enfants dormiront."

"They turn, turn, turn,
The little puppets,
They turn, turn, turn,
Circle thrice and disappear.
(...)
But they will dance again,
The little puppets,
But they will dance again,
Once the children sleep."

Just looking through this old thread. Man, some great material here.
