Morrissey/Smiths Pessimist Song Thread

Morrissey has made so many great songs that pessimists could relate to. What are some of your guys favorite songs by Moz that express some of the darkness in life most musicians won't look at?

To start it off, here's I'm the End of the Family Line, one of the few and best songs expressing what its like to be an antinatalist, imho.

Re: Morrissey/Smiths Pessimist Song Thread

Not the most interesting choice for a long time fan, but my favourite Morrissey lyrics of his career, Smiths or solo, are the ones to Everyday Is Like Sunday. They capture the uncanny/ghostly melancholy I look for in weird fiction.

'...and a strange dust lands on your hands...'

'I believe in what the Germans term Ehrfurcht: reverence for things one cannot understand.'

Your fall should be like the fall of mountains. But I was before mountains. I was in the beginning, and shall be forever. The first and the last. The world come full circle. I am not the wheel. I am the hand that turns the wheel. I am Time, the Destroyer. I was the wind and the stars before this. Before planets. Before heaven and hell. And when all is done, I will be wind again, to blow this world as dust back into endless space. To me the coming and going of Man is as nothing.

It is interesting! A great melody with apocalyptic longing. My friend is a big fan of Morrissey and that's one of her favorite's if not favorite songs by him/them. Here's a playlist she made about the apocalypse in case you're bored. (Only mention because it was included on there)

Are you into efilism at all, Prince James?

Re: Morrissey/Smiths Pessimist Song Thread

I absolutely love all the replies put forward so far. I humbly ask and recommend that multiple songs be linked if you're feeling especially bored or expressive. Sometimes you just want to wallow in a musician, you know?

Does the body rule the mind or does the mind rule the body?
I dunno.

Just thought I'd post this because a lot of people haven't heard "Striptease With A Difference" but it's great.
