Ebook edition of 'Divinations of the Deep' now published

For those who have been waiting for an ebook edition of my Divinations of the Deep, I'm pleased to announce that the project is now a reality. Like the original edition, the ebook edition is published by Ash-Tree Press, and can be purchased directly from them (in Kindle or ePub format) or from
Amazon Amazon
.

You can read more about the book at either of those pages or in this Teeming Brain post.

This is good news. Not b/c I have an ebook reader or anything. I got lucky. Not long after discovering your writing I found someone on eBay selling DotD along with 3 other books (that I wasn't interested in) for $25. I have to say it's really good, so word to the wise, if you can't find a physical copy, pick this one up. CHG

Re: Ebook edition of 'Divinations of the Deep' now published

Amazing book. The stories are fantastic and superbly written. I think Cardin shows flashes of real brilliance in "Notes of a Mad Copyist", (mild spoilers ahead) namely in the bit where he rewrites the pater noster into the stuff of nightmares. (end mild spoilers). In a book full of impressive material, that little bit impressed me the most for some reason.

A story that stood out for me, albeit in a strange way, was "The Basement Theater". Although I really enjoyed the oppressive and dreadful atmosphere, I didn't quite know what to make out of it. But around that time I was starting to read Thomas Ligotti, and once I'd read some of his stories I was able to go back to that particular story and actually get into it. I think it was reading "Gas Station Carnivals" that finally unlocked the specific something in my brain that was needed to approach "TBT", both being somewhat about spending a lifetime in some form of delusion (the delusion of Self, or of Life itself?) without really knowing what is going on.

And the ending of "Judas of the Infinite" is just unbelievable. A cataclysmic conclusion if there ever was one.

All and all, really good stuff. Also, for whatever's worth, it has the distinction of being one of the very few ebooks I've bought that didn't have a single typo or mistake in it. So, that's good, too.

Sincere thanks to both of you for the good words.

In a new development, there's presently a chance that the contents of Divinations may have a further life beyond that particular tome. Situation still developing. More news when (if) things happen.
