Re: Crampton

Thanks for that. Was there ever a signed version of this? I've seen one or two signed examples on e-bay, but mine is not, and I have the feeling that there was never a subset of them set aside for signing.

Does anyone have any further information?

There was never a printing variant or special edition of CRAMPTON. The copies you have noticed on eBay are being sold by Brandon Trenz, and as such have been singed by both Tom and Brandon.

Re: Crampton

I am thoroughly delighted to be able to hear the Unholy City at last! And for free!

Now if there were only a way to read Cramp (either version!) without stretching my wallet to the breaking point. I am afraid that I learned of TL's existence too late to have had the chance to read them here.

Re: Crampton

I like the simplicity of the book and CD covers. It would make a nice theme for ligotti.net. Also, the tracks and music are great - thank you for posting them.

This album gets better each time I listen to it. Well done.

Re: Crampton

I recently bought a copy of the book and CD from Mr. Ligotti. The CD is signed by Tom, and the book bears his signature and separate initials that look very much like MJ or ML on the first page, then a separate inscription to me with signature by Tom on the title page. Anyone have any idea who MJ/ML is? Brandon Trenz's real name? An editor? I'm perplexed!

Re: Crampton

I did the same (and now, consequently, have two copies of Crampton. I wanted a signed copy so bad), and suffer from the same perplexion as Sam does.

It's nice to see the cd up here at TLO. I've liked from when I first heard, so many years ago. It's very static, playing up against a profound emptiness, lurking just behind the music and Ligotti's strange, impersonal-yet-menacing-and-desperate readings of the lyrics.

I believe the theme is already there.

Steve and I collaborated on the creation of the CRAMPTON style at some point after he first made the suggestion. You can select if from the Style Select drop-down box located at the top-right and bottom-left of every page.
