Newly released:

Have to say I'm enjoying the following very much at present:

Re: Your favourite song at the moment..

Killer bass.

Your fall should be like the fall of mountains. But I was before mountains. I was in the beginning, and shall be forever. The first and the last. The world come full circle. I am not the wheel. I am the hand that turns the wheel. I am Time, the Destroyer. I was the wind and the stars before this. Before planets. Before heaven and hell. And when all is done, I will be wind again, to blow this world as dust back into endless space. To me the coming and going of Man is as nothing.

Re: Your favourite song at the moment..

Tom Petty, RIP. Hard to pick a favorite song, but I always liked this duet with Stevie Nicks:

Re: Your favourite song at the moment..

All right, it's gotta happen. More Tom Petty.

His spoken intro to this live performance of "The Waiting" leads perfectly and amusingly into the song. And then the band kicks it up a notch after about the 4:30 mark. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers would have been a great band to see live back in the day.

I love the video for "Free Fallin'": Tom Petty, nearly 40, perched like a gargoyle high above scenes of stereotypical teenage normality, singing about them in his nasal voice. I always expected one of the "good girls" to look up and say, "Hey, who's that weird guy up there?"

This song also contains the indelible lines "It's a long day livin' in Reseda / There's a freeway runnin' through the yard."

I've never been to Louisiana, but this is one of my favorites from the excellent early album Damn the Torpedoes:

What else? Oh, yeah:
