Re: Whomever is your favourite artist?
I'm afraid I'm not passionate about 'serious' art but illustrators I love are Coye, Finlay, and Utpatel. Knox was one of the greats. As was Bok who did the definitive illustration for Pickman's Model.

Re: Whomever is your favourite artist?
Just wanted to throw Harry Clarke and El Greco into the mix. Two of my favorites...
El Greco's "View of Toledo" always reminds me of "Doctor Locrian's Asylum."

Some great names. Harry Clarke and Hannes Bok, yes indeed.
I think Richard Powers did terrific work for Ballantine Books too. Surreal and disturbing. By the by, Hell-G: have you read the new(ish) biography of Austin Osman Spare written by Phil Baker? Mark S. |

Re: Whomever is your favourite artist?
I'm only familiar with Harry Clarke as an illustrator (his Poe illustrations are of course the stuff of legend) but yes, I love his work.

I agree, very underrated band indeed. It´s a shame that Akhenaten quit Judas Iscariot and his other projects.

Re: Whomever is your favourite artist?
I'm not all that familiar with artists of the past, but whenever I get bored I browse Deviantart for things of interest. I'm fascinated with the creations of ordinary people and I've met a few lovely laymen that ended up being wonderful, passionate artists. Anyway, here are some of my current favorites found through Deviantart.
Torvenius: Alexander Jansson: Leslie Oldaker: I love the way she views crowds, and people in general. Eduardo Rodriguez Calzado: Leszek Andrzej Kostuj: Probably my favorite current artist. I LOVE his imagination and the thick, milky flow of his elegant yet cartoony designs. The almost look as if they have been carved from wood.
