Eibonvale Press

Eibonvale Press - Publishers of Horror, Magic Realism, Slipstream and the Surreal
Eibonvale Press is a small press run by a writer, artist and reader who loves books - It's as simple as that. It is not intended to be particularly commercial or make large sums of money for me or anyone concerned (though it would be nice if it did, of course!), but it aims to produce beautiful and lovingly-designed editions of excellent writing in modern horror, magic realism and the surreal.

Re: Eibonvale Press

I've recently discovered Eibonvale Press myself, after having ordered a copy of Nina Allan's A Thread of Truth. They have several other interesting looking releases, so I'll be sure to further explore this press in the near future!

Re: Eibonvale Press

It's encouraging to see so many authors from Strange Tales. Unpleasant Tales, The Smell of Telescopes, and A Thread of Truth sound good. Interesting that the paperback edition of A Thread of Truth is longer than the hardcover.

Re: Eibonvale Press

I think the paperbacks have more pages because the format is slightly different. The word count is the same I believe.

Just a quick note: The paperback of Unpleasant Tales is now available. If ordered direct from the publisher, free shipping in the US and UK.

Re: Eibonvale Press

I might as well state publicly here that Brendan Connell's book is a masterpiece, a true treasure trove of darkly glittering pearls. I can't recommend it highly enough!

Re: Eibonvale Press

Thanks, Damo.

I'm supposed to be keeping quiet about it, but it finally looks as if there will be a budget paperback copy of Worming the Harpy at the end of this year or beginning of 2011.

If nothing goes wrong, it will be Tartarus Press who will issue this second edition... So it has come full circle.

You won't be disappointed by the Connell book, by the way; it's one of the two best short story collections I've read this year (Primo Levi's A Tranquil Star is the other one). The range and quality of the pieces are very impressive: Connell's control of language and expert treatment of both traditional and original themes is perfect.

Re: Eibonvale Press

I'm so happy about the new edition of "Worming." I had hoped Nightshade would do it, but I'll be happy to read it regardless.
