Re: Sarob Press

I expect the finalized TOC and offical publication date will be announced in due course in the next G&S newsletter.

In the meantime, Rosemary Pardoe said it was fine to give people an unofficial 'heads-up' as to the contents.

Re: Sarob Press

Just finished this review of A CERTAIN SLANT OF LIGHT by Peter Bell (Sarob Press). I think the book as a whole is possibly the best example yet of Ghorror (as defined).

Re: Sarob Press

Just finished 'The Ghosts and Scholars Book of Shadows', the recent Sarob collection of prequels/sequels which I can heartily recommend to those on TLO who have a love of all things Jamesian. The editor has wisely, I think, avoided including too many stories in the 'M.R. James pastiche' style, although the better ones do tend to fall into that category.

Standout stories for me are those by Reggie Oliver, Louis Marvick (who really deserves to be much more widely appreciated) and Mark Valentine, whose contribution I have already seen described on another board as 'better than the original'.

Re: Sarob Press

Yeah, I've enjoyed quite a few Harman stories as well, particularly "The Last to Be Found." I don't think I'll be picking up this collection-- I can only justify so many limited editions these days, and I've just splurged on the new Reggie Oliver-- but I hope it won't be Harman's last.

Re: Sarob Press

I don't remember reading Harman, although it's entirely possible considering the anthologies in which he's been published.

I like trying out authors new to me. You never know what to expect.

The Heaven Tree & Other Stories

I have just received this 2013 book that I purchased from Sarob Press.
I hope to conduct a real-time review in 2014 once I’ve finished my sabbaticess.

NEW TITLE NEWS

SUMMONINGS by RON WEIGHELL

Sarob Press is delighted to present the first hardcover collection of wholly supernatural stories by Ron Weighell since the now fabulously sought after and extremely rare The White Road (Ghost Story Press, 1996) ~ signed copies now commanding many hundreds of pounds U.K. sterling. Here are ten stories from the pen of a truly rare author. Mr Weighell delivers an amazing dark feast of supernatural imaginings ~ from classic Jamesian-like tales of terror to darker, deeper and far more arcane and esoteric horrors. Order your copy of this rather special book NOW.
Stories: “D’Arca*” “The World Entire” “The Counsels of Night” “Suburbs of the Black Lyre” “Now Feel that Pulse No More*” “The Mouth of the Medusa” “An Image of Truth” “The Four Strengths of Shadow*” “The Tears of the Gods (NOVELLA ~ newly expanded & fully revised)” “Into the Mysteries (an excerpt)” “Afterword” by the author. *newly written & previously unpublished.
This collection is presented as a Limited, Numbered & “SIGNED” Edition Dust-Jacketed Hardcover.
