Re: If Facebook is the new cigarette, is Twitter the new cheroot?

Thanks for sharing this, I hope there will come some form of restriction on the use of social media, at my workplace, it has popped up as a problem that my colleagues are using our break time for social media instead of talking to each other. A friend of mine is constantly using snapchat while he is over at my house and it annoys me to no end when hes doing it.
The closest thing I come to being social online is this forum and Goodreads. I used twitter for a couple of years, but the time spent on utter nonsense and waiting for likes and such is utter and complete pointless rubbish. I feel I sometimes miss out on certain things for not having facebook, but so be it, Im never going to join Facebook.

God, the stench of hypocrisy surrounding all this anti-social media hype is literally breath-taking. How dare something actually produce competition to our transgressive journalist edge-overlords (the internet is a good way of spreading outrage but people have an alarming tendency to use it for purposes other than spreading outrage - like organizing concert meets or sharing picture of their shoes and food).

I think using a dumb phone instead of a smart phone might help reduce social media addiction.

There is already plenty of risk involved without the addiction part.
