Re: Stable Genius

I don't think we can really tell who's stable. It might be a small minority who achieve it. Lots of seemingly stable people make a great effort to hide their difficulties and it's more acceptable for artists, celebrities and upper classes to show everyone their troubles.

It's not fair to assume everyone is simple as they seem, you never know what's going on in their head.

I certainly hope there's lots of stable geniuses because mental illness can get awfully tedious.

"Tell me how you want to die, and I'll tell you who you are. In other words, how do you fill out an empty life? With women, books, or worldly ambitions? No matter what you do, the starting point is boredom, and the end self-destruction. The emblem of our fate: the sky teeming with worms. Baudelaire taught me that life is the ecstasy of worms in the sun, and happiness the dance of worms."

Re: Stable Genius

I am always worried when people emphasize how "stable" they are or that "everything is totally fine".
This observation in not limited to people with small hands in high positions, of course.

Plenty of self-proclaimed liberals I've met clearly hated women and Jews as well. I couldn't care less about politics or similar arbitrary definitions. I am merely mocking the cults people rally within, whose memetic structures provide the illusion of sanity at the cost of autonomy.

Self-proclaimed conservatives love Peterson, so as far as I am concerned what he says to the contrary is irrelevant. He is an icon for conservative drones, just as Pinker is for liberal drones.

Only iconoclasts could hope to wield any relative sovereignty over their life's work, and no one can be an iconoclast all the time.

Incidentally, I am not here to spark a blood feud. If you vote or identify as one or the other, I don't care either way. I am just turned off by how fanatical so many people become over what amounts to nothing. All these cults and fads that capture so many lost souls, then subsequently drag them down alongside when they fall out of favor, are simply a glamorous form of madness. Glamorous and useless.

On the other hand, each of us operating one of these god-like screens through which we now speak, have clearly benefitted from the works of true geniuses. Most geniuses seem afflicted by unglamorous forms of madness however.

And genius? Most end up just becoming intellectual masterbators looking for fawning praise from their peers. A few escape that fate. Not many. Zizek is a good example of one who escaped.
