Fake Ligotti Signatures / Books?
Wondering if any members have had any experiences encountering fake Ligotti merchandise? Maybe more specifically, a fake signature on a piece of Thomas Ligotti merchandise?
A few months ago I purchased the 2013 signed limited edition hardcover revised Death Poems by Bad Moon books on ebay for a very decent price. Supposedly, there were only 300 hardcover copies produced. I'm relatively new to collecting Ligotti books, but it's been my brief experience so far that any Ligotti books in limited production get sold out quite quickly and the price goes way up. Not saying you can't find good deals here and there, but I just found it odd that the above mentioned book is still available on ebay from the same seller and for the same very decent price, which appears to be an individual and not a store. Even offering that if you buy more than one, an additional % will be taken off the final price. Maybe I've just been jaded by the scarcity of the other limited production Ligotti books, I don't know. Good deals hapoen occasionally; I purchased my copy of Death Poems for a pretty modest price myself, and some time earlier a numbered copy of The Great God Pan by Arcane Wisdom Press, signed by S. T. Joshi. If I recall it was the only copy of Death Poems that the seller offered. Mine appears legitimate, but if it seems suspicious enough you may wish to relay your grievance to Bad Moon Books.

I wanted to buy Death Poems a while ago so I had all of Ligotti's published work on my bookshelf, but the signed hardcopy was too expensive for me to justify . . . I'm yet to read a third of Ligotti's stories . . .
