The Shadow at the Bottom of the World.

Good evening.
Im new to to Thomas Ligotti and only have the one collection that being in the title,Im wondering where this collection stands in the Ligotti world?
Is it a broad representation of his work in general?
Thankyou if you can help with your thoughts.

For what it is worth, that was the first Ligotti book that I stumbled across as well. With a couple of exceptions, I think it is pretty indicative of his general body of work, as far as tone and philosophy go. Mr. Ligotti has a consistent vision, even when the narrative format is unusual (see "The Nightmare Network").

Try "Songs of a Dead Dreamer" and "Teatro Grottesco". You could maybe get them both from Ligotti himself.

I know who you are
