Ah, such bitter satire and so well done. Cubist editorials!

Put your faith in God; he won't expect you.
Put your faith in death, because it's free.
If you believe in nothing, honey, it believes in you.
-Robyn Hitchcock

Re: George Grosz

Such a brilliant and original artist. I have admired his work for years. I have a few books of his art somewhere. His work also graces the cover of a disturbing book that I read a long time ago: Lustmord, Sexual Murder in Weimar Germany by Maria Tatar, that, unfortunately, I have never been able to get out of my head. I think I was lured to reading it by the cover art, my admiration for the film "M", and my fascination with the work of the serial killer profiler, John Douglas. It may have been around the time of The Silence of the Lambs.

Otto Dix is another artist worth checking out if you like Grosz's work.

Thanks for mentioning Lustmord. I'm reading it right now. Brutal

"Tell me how you want to die, and I'll tell you who you are. In other words, how do you fill out an empty life? With women, books, or worldly ambitions? No matter what you do, the starting point is boredom, and the end self-destruction. The emblem of our fate: the sky teeming with worms. Baudelaire taught me that life is the ecstasy of worms in the sun, and happiness the dance of worms."
