TLO Classifieds - Preview
I am nearly ready to introduce a new feature within TLO which will integrate a shop. My original intention was to title this apparatus THE BOOKSHOP OF BYZANTIUM, as I intend to use it primarily to offer extra copies of Ligotti books to members for purchase prior to posting them on eBay. THE RED TOWER is still intended as the title of a shop offering TeeLO shirts and various oddities, most likely through a third-party.

The engine for this modification features PayPal integration and a feedback system. There is also the option to allow "classified" advertisements to be posted by members. Is there any interest in this, or should I limit the content to official TLO offerings?

I am attaching a screen capture from an item view. Note that the book displayed is available, though I have not yet settled on the final price.

You could start with official TLO offerings, Dr B, and see how that works out. I personally wouldn't be against "classified" advertisements by fellow TLO members.

You can currently take TLO Classifieds for a test drive. It is to be considered a BETA feature and I have not yet made it available as a menu destination, but you can check it out here:

You can even post your own classified advertisements (for now), though each will require approval of an administrator or moderator prior to public listing. I have included an item for testing, though I set the price at an amount that should prevent most members from actually purchasing the book. The description is also generic, but if you are inclined to promote me to millionaire status, then so mote it be. If you should place an item for advertisement, I suggest that you do so only if you either take similar precautions or you are prepared to consummate the deal. Again - this is a BETA testing of a potential site feature, therefore I make no guarantees to functionality and performance. Having said that, take it for a test drive and provide feedback!

UPDATE
I put the PayPal interface in testing mode, therefore this should prevent the completion of purchases. Again - no guarantees!

Looks pretty good to me. I like being able to bookmark ads, nice touch. I clicked the BUY IT! option as a test, and as far as I can tell that seems to work. I look forward to spending more time, and now money, on this infernal website!
