Current 93 Tribute Anthology

Hi everyone,
I'm editing an anthology MIGHTY IN SORROW which will be a Current 93 tribute collection with stories influenced/inspired by the band. On board already: Joseph Pulver, Sr., Nicole Cushing, Mike Griffin, Daniel Miller, Ross Lockhart, and more.

Here's the details if you want to submit... or if you or if you are just interested in keeping an eye out for it. Should be out in mid 2013.

Re: Current 93 Tribute Anthology

I already have approval from David Tibet for this project. Here are the details for the Current 93 tribute anthology to be published by COPELAND VALLEY PRESS in 2013.

STORIES INSPIRED AND INFLUENCED BY CURRENT 93

Wanted: short fiction and prose poetry. You really must be a fan of the band as well. Liking one song doesn't make you a fan, I want submissions by people who love the band.

I am NOT looking for fan fiction. I want writing that current93 fans would like to READ. I want themes that you find in the music and words of David Tibet. It should NOT include David as a character by name.

THEMES?: Crowley. Gnosticism. Noddy. Apocalyptic literature (biblical). Christian mysticism. Crosses. Old English lore. Decadence.

I want fiction and prose poetry that is as powerful and enigmatic as Tibet's lyrics. I want the anthology to resemble a lost gospel of sorts.

NO explicit sex or violence.

I am especially interested in authors from countries other than the US and UK but everyone is welcome to submit.

WORD COUNT: 1k to 5k

PAYMENT: One-half cent a word. One-cent a word for established authors. Each author will also receive a copy of the book.

DEADLINE: September 23, 2012

Send all submissions to filmynoir@live.com with the words CURRENT 93 ANTHOLOGY in the subject line.

I'd be excited to read this one even if I didn't have a story in it!

Re: Current 93 Tribute Anthology

I have a story in this one also: "Anyway, People Die", under my new name "Neal Alan Spurlock". As some of you know, I am a huge Current 93 fan, and I'm honored to have a story in a tribute to them. I can only hope David Tibet reads it and likes it!

After the reception I got on the board for "Dreams Of Fire And Glass", I'm looking forward to seeing what certain people think of it.

My tale in this anthology is called, "when the twilighttwilight of nihil.nihil chimes…" Looking forward to reading the other contributions to this.

Re: Current 93 Tribute Anthology

I hope someone digs into this one for inspiration. The most horrifically forsaken Current 93 has ever been.

Re: Current 93 Tribute Anthology

Since I'm the only TLO forum member to fail to give the name of their story in this anthology, I will add: mine's called "May Dawn Redeem What Night Destroys" I'm really looking forward to this too - I keep saying I'd eagerly buy this even if I didn't have a story in it, but it's true.

Re: Current 93 Tribute Anthology

I'm surprised nobody has posted the table of contents for this here yet. It looks beyond darkly delicious. I found this on Michael Griffin's blog, so I hope he doesn't mind that I've directly copied and pasted from there. I haven't seen any indication of when this will officially be released, but I hope it is soon!

Re: Current 93 Tribute Anthology

I certainly don't mind - it's great to know people are interested in this book, and eagerly anticipating it!

Editor Jordan Krall hinted on Facebook that there was a good chance copies would be available by "KrallCon" which is a sort of Krall-centric gathering in the first week of April.

I've been hoping we might get copies by the following week, at least, as the H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival & CthulhuCon in Portland is April 10-12. At that event, many Mighty in Sorrow contributors will be con guests or attendees -- Nikki Guerlain, myself, Ross Lockhart, Joe Pulver, Edward Morris, and Robert Price... possibly others I don't know about yet. If copies were available by then, someone could get a bunch of signatures all in one place if they were so inclined.
