14. We realize that great writing comes not from universities but from basement rooms which are never inhabited. We reject any text which is not written on sheaves of stolen toilet paper or the pilfered stationery of an Alabama massage parlor.

Relevant quote, and why I thought that it might be of interest to you guys:

Quote
McQueen has a very agreeable off-hand manner in describing the way our civilisation chooses to see itself. There is an almost Len Deighton style of deprecation at work here which is sharp, reflective and accurate in exposing the conceits of our times. The sub-culture of sex, drugs and the dafter end of the occult are explored. The consumption of drugs, whether they be prescription or otherwise is to be deplored as reality is bad enough as it is. Why risk altering it? Such is the rage of the glass-half empty brigade.
And, the whole novel is apparently steeped in pop culture references and various elements of British counter-culture(s).

Perhaps, if someone was to gestalt real time review it, we might hear if it really fits or not, hm...

Yes.

Re: Neo-Decadence

I am going to start a literary journal tentatively entitled Dream Chess about Neo-Decadence that will come off the ground in 20 2018.

Decadence is of such fascination to me, in all forms, that I just can't resist, though I regret I am still lacking some seminal reading material with respect to AC Evans book.

I am now starting to accept submissions for it at allen2012@aol.com; I am looking for poetry in the decadent and Neo Decadent tradition and essays on Neo Decadence, so everyone can understand it.

Decadence has no politics. It is a libertinism of the soul and imagination that exceeds the body and mind's capacities. I will not include any essay that is political, or any poem.

But, since I want this first one to be perfect, I want the highest quality poetry anyone can write. I will endorse all publications in the Neo Decadent genre, any book, etc.

At least start writing.

JTA

Bruh, Decadence explicitly rebelled against bourgeois sensitivities, and Neo-Decadent literature is anti-capitalist. Definitely not apolitical.

Decadent.
C'mon, don't talk about it.
Live the life, then embellish when you are in the retirement facility.
