Dougie will certainly be taken to the desert by those Mitchum brothers. That's what Vegas hoods do. I'm positive this will happen. I'm really interested to see how that plays out.

Also, it seems Dougie's storyline is ahead of the Twin Peaks timeline. The American Girl in the purple room from episode three's watch read October 1st, 2:53 PM. That's the date and time Dale was sucked into the socket and embodied Dougie Jones in Las Vegas. We know that those are significant dates and times, as they were instructions left by Major Briggs in his note. Perhaps, once Twin Peaks time catches up with purple room time, and once Hawk, Truman, and Bobby arrive at Jack Rabbit's palace on October 1st, 2:53 PM, which they agreed was their next course of action in episode nine, we'll see Cooper's personas merge in some way, or Dougie will "wake up" and become Dale Cooper again. Or perhaps, just as the Mitchum's are ready to execute Dougie, Hawk and the gang will enter the Palace and somehow suck Dale out of Dougie. I'm sure this won't all do down exactly as I'm expecting, but this may be close to how the Doug Jones storyline is resolved.

Any predictions?
Gold Shovels aren't just for digging yourself out of the ####. I'll bet they pack a wallop - especially if administered by Nadine.

I see the three Fuscos coming to the rescue in some absurd rescue ploy redolent of the Three Stooges or the Marx Brothers.

Re: Twin Peaks - Series 3

I'm not a massive fan of the original tv run (apart from the astounding soundtrack), I even avoided most of the second season due to its poor reputation but I adored Fire Walk With Me. That film and the rest of Lynch's output really shouldn't have made the direction of the current series a surprise.

I've actually enjoyed ALL the bands, there has been a couple I didn't know.

Re: Twin Peaks - Series 3

Tonight's episode just made me so happy - like grinning ear to ear.

Spoilery stuff:

The opening scene with Becky on the war path and Shelly clinging to the car hood - pure gold!

Miriam survived!

The Mitchum Brothers are just lovable.
The scene in the desert was a spoof of Se7en - right?

The scene with Gordon and Albert at the crime scene - YES!

Sorry, but this episode has left me a bit flustered.

A great episode. Belushi and Knepper are killing it.

Those two are amazing! I never thought I would like Jim Belushi, but he and Robert Kneper have amazing chemistry.

So much goodness in this episode:

Spoilers ...

Carl comforting Shelly in his Limo-Van.

The scene in the diner and the aftermath with the blocked traffic and that woman who wouldn't stop honking her horn.
Just seeing Bobby and Shelly with Becky and seeing Shelly run out of the diner to hook up with the only guy to intimidate Richard Horne.

Detective Mackley saying "Smoke'em if you got'em".

I'm still reeling from this episode.

Re: Twin Peaks - Series 3

Was Dougie Cooper having dinner with the Mitchums a play on "Odysseus" at the feast? Is he ready to reveal his identity?

Or is he still dead on the floor of the Great Northern?

My favorite line tonight:
"Albert, I worry about you!"

At long last Audrey!

Ben Horne has evolved into a fundamentally decent man.

I want to learn French so that I may tell dad jokes about turnips.

Not my favorite episode, but lots of details.

Dougie's token 15 seconds on screen was sweet.

Another appearance by the Chromatics? How about Neko Case instead.

Re: Twin Peaks - Series 3

I was very glad that Audrey made an appearance.
Gordon Cole's meeting with the french lady was very amusing. Any time people speak in bizarre code, I laugh. The "Lil the Dancer" scene in FWWM, which this scene is undoubtedly calling to, made me laugh hysterically. I wonder what Cole was trying to tell Albert?
