Re: What Other Websites Do You Recommend?

Lovecraft eZine | A magazine featuring Weird Fiction, Cosmic horror, and the Cthulhu Mythos

Your fall should be like the fall of mountains. But I was before mountains. I was in the beginning, and shall be forever. The first and the last. The world come full circle. I am not the wheel. I am the hand that turns the wheel. I am Time, the Destroyer. I was the wind and the stars before this. Before planets. Before heaven and hell. And when all is done, I will be wind again, to blow this world as dust back into endless space. To me the coming and going of Man is as nothing.

Thanks Miguel1984; I too enjoy the Lovecraft eZine and have often found good weird in its pages beyond simple pop Cthulhiana. Worth checking out!

Here's another site, one that features a selection of interesting stories from the Gaslight Era:

"Gaslight is an Internet discussion list which reviews one story a week from the genres of mystery, adventure and The Weird, written between 1800 and 1919."

Is WeirdFictionReview too obvious? It has slowed down a lot in recent years but it's still good.

https://www.blackgate.com/
Black Gate keeps me up on what's coming out in fantasy and science fiction (some weird fiction too), with little interference from tv and film news that clogs up a lot of SFF sites. Lots of forgotten writers featured there too.

It's a guilty pleasure but I go on File770 for SFF culture wars gossip and I probably shouldn't but it can be interesting. But it has too much movie and tv franchise news .

I love Weird Fiction Review! Even though it was started to promote the Vandemeer's book, "The Weird: A Compendium of Strange and Dark Stories," there is always something new and I appreciate the author interviews. There's a great one up there now with Kristine Ong Muslim.

greydogtales | Literature, lurchers and life

Forgot about this one, quite an eccentric blog because of all the dog stuff. Lots of interviews with writers.

Some guy called S.C. Hickman, I believe. At least, all of the essays about Ligotti are written by him.

A site that recommends dark classical music. I also just find out a youtube playlist with all the pieces from there.

Once we commit ourselves to a passion, noble or sordid, it is of no importance, we are certain to proceed from torment to torment. The very aptitude to endure them shows that we are predestined to suffer. We love only because unconsciously we have renounced happiness. The Brahmanic adage is irrefutable: 'Each time you create a new tie, you drive another pain, like a nail, into your heart.'
