The Face of Twilight

I've just seen this on PS Publishing website :

Title: The Face of Twilight
Author: Mark Samuels
Introduction: TBC
Cover Artist: TBC
Editions: Hardcover (300 copies) 25 / $45
Paperback (500 copies) 10 / $18
ISBNs: Hardcover 1904619606
Paperback 1904619592
Publication Date: End 2005

Synopsis:

Details to follow.

Not a very detailed announcement, but it made my day: If you have enjoyed "The White hands" and "Black Altars" as much as I did, this is great news indeed! This, in addition to the forthcoming new collections by Thomas Ligotti and Quentin S. Crisp on different publishers, makes 2005 aa exciting year, don't you think?

Re: The Face of Twilight

I just started reading Samuels' "The White Hands and other Weird Tales", this far I have just read the title story and decided to stop doing so and made some foolish research on "Lilith Blake", alas I haven't found a single thing...

...So I take it Samuels made her up, right ?

Karnos,

I checked with Mark when I saw him the other day and yes, Lilith Blake is a fictional character.

If it makes you feel any better he said that you're not the first person to think she might have been real.

I guess an author ought to feel good when he finds out fans of his/her work believed some of the stuff he/she made up... I know I would!

So you know Mark then? Cool!

Thank you for sharing this news, ElHI. I didn't realize that the title of the discussion thread related to a new book by Mark, or else I would have read and responded to it sooner.

Mark's THE WHITE HANDS and BLACK ALTARS are simply wonderful, in my opinion, and I'm quite eagerly awaiting this newest collection.

Re: The Face of Twilight

Karnos, yeah, I know Mark. I stand next to him at British conventions and try to catch some of the reglected glory. Quentin knows him too. And Matt's met Mark a couple of times as well. Sorry, I'm just rubbing it in now aren't I?

Matt, The Face of Twilight is a novella. I'm looking forward to seeing it out at the end of the year.

Thanks for the clarification, Stu.

As for Mark's reflected glory, why am I strangely reminded of Yahweh, Moses, and the glory of the former shining from the face of the latter?

In case anyone was still wondering about this book, the publication date has been put back by PS to March 2005. I'm expecting the proofs in the next couple of weeks.

You mean March 2006, no?

I already ordered it online Too bad "Black Altars" is out of stock. Do you know if there'll be a reissue soon?

Yes, March 2006. Sorry about that.

No plans for a reissue of BLACK ALTARS, I'm afraid.
