Re: Reggie Oliver

I was just now read "The Druid's Rest" in Reggie Oliver's The Sea of Blood collection, and I couldn't help but picture the hotel owner Rhys-Griffiths (supposed to be an old welsh prince I believe?) as being a Donald Trump character with his mannerisms in dialog.

"Top people consulted me... I'm well known... I have the finest... It's universally acknowledged... some of these people couldn't manage your Aunt Fanny's backyard... They need to be told. I told them, but they wouldn't listen, and as a result you have the situation we're in now, you see."

All the talk about how he is the best and has a reputation. I can easily picture Donald Trump's voice in that dialog.

And [SPOILERS] then at the end of the story he tries to grab one of the girls in a Trumplike manner.

Funny coincidence, nontheless a very good Aickman-like story. It seems to me to be a variation on Aickman's "The Trains".

Re: Reggie Oliver

Now that Dark Renaissance seems to be no more, does anybody know when/where The Boke of the Divill will be published?

Re: Reggie Oliver

Somehow Dark Renaissance revived several months after they shut down but their website isn't working right now.

Slammed money down for the hardcover. There goes my beer money for the next two weeks.
