Re: Video Games

But keep in mind many people regard this as one of the best games in years and years. Whatever genre, it's supposed to be brilliant.

Re: Video Games

The Old City: Leviathan looks quite interesting. I like this recent surge of narrative driven exploration "games" and from what I've been reading this one has raised the bar. And, Atrium Carceri created a gorgeous soundtrack for it, which I have been listening to for the past few weeks.

Re: Video Games

I'm curious about Witcher 3. I don't know if I'm just older and can't justify sitting for hours at a time playing a video game, but I hope there is some element of purpose tied into exploration. I loved and hated Skyrim's open world because an hour would go by and I'd end up feeling like I accomplished next to nothing. But, at the same time if I was 16 again there's no doubt I'd play that crap all day long. Regardless, I'm sure Witcher 3 will melt my PC anyway.

Re: Video Games

Oh man, I think I spent like 300 hours or more in Skyrim, ha ha. Last real game I played was Dragon Age Inquisition which also takes a huge amount of time to get through: I played over 100 hours and still have stuff left to do.

Only game I'm really looking forward to this year (at the moment) is the fifth game in the Metal Gear Solid series.

The guy who headed Castlevania development for over a decade is doing his own version.

Re: Video Games

Didn't realise that would link to the video instead of the actual Kickstarter page.

I'm not sure if you're aware but it's a different artist now. Kojima hasn't been on the Castlevania series since Curse Of Darkness in 2005.
Masaki Hirooka taken a similar approach on Order Of Ecclesia.

No idea who the new artist is.

Re: Video Games

This is amazing news. Thank you for the heads up, Robert. It's especially exciting to see Michiru Yamane working on this as well!

Re: Video Games

Scorn looks amazing. Definitely tapping into cosmic horror - but early descriptions of the game make it sound as if it will have a Pessimistic/Antinatalist angle...

Good to see Kojima back in action, and his new game looks pretty interesting.
