Seasonal Horror Radio


Looking for horror / strange / weird radio dramas with a Yule theme.
Christmas - Kwanzaa - Hanukkah - Boxing Day.
Not so merry holidays.
Hoping others can give personal recommendations for something they have listened to.
I'll suggest this nasty one from Mr Campbell.
"Calling Card"
Featuring an ambiant background, and superb narration.
At nineteen minutes, this won't drain your patience.

I haven't listened to this one yet, but it's based on another good Xmas-themed horror from Campbell.

The story was originally written for a BBC radio presentation, but no recording of that original reading seems to be available anywhere. It was subsequently reprinted a couple of times, including an appearance in a Year's Best Horror Stories paperback (where I encountered it).

Man, I intended to load more holiday horror into this thread.
Unfortunately, my main workhorse computer failed in December.
(still troubleshooting, hoping to avoid the repair shop)
Then, my backup computer went haywire.
Currently, I have a creaky Linux and my wife's iPad - both seem more designed to "look" at the internet.
I will try to remember and resurrect this thread next December.
Meanwhile, this is not exactly Yule themed, but the proceedings do occur on 22 December.

I really enjoy "The Feet". It is a story made to be heard! The sound of jingling bells now has a different meaning for me.
