TLO Video Directory

I am testing out a new feature to catalog favorite online videos of TLO members. Share and comment accordingly.

This feature has now been integrated into the menu system under Media-->Video Directory.

Video Directory has been upgraded and now includes the ability to automatically create a corresponding discussion thread. Video formats currently include Metacafe, YouTube, YouTubeHD, Dailymotion and Veoh.

The new LOAD INFORMATION button also makes it easier to add your favorite videos. To catalog a video:

1. Click the ADD VIDEO button anywhere within Video Directory.
2. Select the Category which best suits the content type.
3. Enter the URL of the video.
4. Click the LOAD INFORMATION button (title and description will pre-fill).
5. (OPTIONAL) Edit the description to include any additional comments you wish to make.
6. Click the ADD VIDEO button.

All of this will be automatically be transferred to a corresponding thread, unless you deselect this checkbox option.

Note that you can also browse videos by member and a panel of recent videos uploaded is maintained within member profiles. Features abound!

If you wish to reference any cataloged video within a post, you may use the video BBCode. Simply insert the video number within video tags:

(substitute square brackets in lieu of braces shown above)

This option is only available to cataloged videos. Regardless, direct real-time embedding of video content from raw URL data is still active, therefore it is not a pre-requisite to catalog a video in order to embed it with the direct method. Note that the title link of an embedded Video Directory selection is directed to the corresponding entry .
