Re: Cinnabar's Gnosis

I received the one I ordered from Cold Tonnage weeks ago (usually only takes a week from when it is sent to when it arrives in the U.S.). The one I ordered from Ex Occidente was supposedly mailed five or six weeks ago, but I haven't seen any sign of it. I am strongly considering cancelling all my existing pre-orders with Dan and getting them from Cold Tonnage instead. From the beginning, I've been a fan and financial supporter of Ex Occidente, but for some strange reason books supposedly sent haven't consistently arrived. This is strange since I've had no similar problem from receiving either Cold Tonnage orders or orders from Amazon UK.

Thanks, Beclabbered.

I wonder if it's the difference between airmail and the alternative. (surface mail?)

My copy still hasn't arrived either.

Re: Cinnabar's Gnosis

My copy arrived today. It was posted a month ago. The Welsh postal service isn't especially good (most delays are explained by the fact that the postmen here are very inefficient). I don't know what the Romanian postal service is like but if it's one of the less efficient European postal services (like the Italian) then that would explain the extra delay. I'm delighted I've got it safe, though!

I only hope this isn't an indication that the publisher has fallen back into their old shipping troubles.

Happy New Year, Mark. I'm looking forward to getting my copy of Cinnabar's Gnosis soon.

You mention an Introduction for a Ewers book. Is there an Ewers tribute anthology in the works, Mark, or are you penning an Introduction for a new collection of his work?

Best,
Richard
Oh, my Ewers essay is for the Side Real Alraune (Joe Bandel translation).

Re: Cinnabar's Gnosis

Regarding delivery of my own copy of Cinnabar's Gnosis, in my case I'm sure the delay was at my end. Over the Christmas period, here in Wales, the postal service becomes very inefficient, partly due to all the untrained temporary workers that are taken on over December. I've seen this inefficiency from close up, having actually once worked in this capacity!

Re: Cinnabar's Gnosis

And this is what it looks like... It's a very substantial volume indeed and beautifully made! A truly gorgeous book in many ways!
