Re: D.F. Lewis

Oh -- and in case Odalisque comments are lost -- I have them all (up to including Chapter 34) copied to a Word document. I could attach that document to an email or send it on a CD. Then you could copy and paste any lost portions. Is that helpful? I hope so.

Yes, that works, but sadly, the specific comments for Chapter 6 - 25 inclusive don't!

Thanks for your subsequent offer, but I think I have all I need for rectification-and-replacement.

It's all the other Bloghorn posts of DFL Wheelies that seem like a mountain to re-do at the moment. :-(

Re: D.F. Lewis

Luckily, the Bloghorn pages seem to be back, but I haven't been able to enter and change anything on the Bloghorn site for some weeks. I fear it is entirely dis-tenanted or haunted by deep-dreaming webmasters.

The Weirdmonger Wheel yesterday was full of gaping holes in the safety-nets. Today, it is at least half-decent. I shall not replace any more pages unless it unseams or unravels again. Meanwhile please enjoy the Weirdmonger Wheel - but with trepidation and no guarantees of new-fangled Health & Safety.

PS: I had already changed the links of some of the 'Odalisque' chapter comments and a few other pages on the Wheel before realising that the Bloghorn pages were back.

Re: D.F. Lewis

Anyone who reads all the DFL quotes posted on TLO will receive a free copy of the acclaimed 'Zencore' or 'Cone Zero' book. I've put the links here for ease (!) of reading:
http://weirdmonger.blog-city.com/the...e_from_dfl.htm

Please PM me (only on TLO) after you've read them all.

Please tell others.

EDIT (10 minutes later): Please put 'thanks' on your favourite ones so that I know you've been through! :-)

Re: D.F. Lewis

A friend of mine has asked this rhetorical question:
His fiction material does not readily find print outlets because (a) it is no good or (b) most of it (new and old) is already on-line or (c) it is an acquired taste that falls between too many stools of style or (d) he hasn't directly submitted any material to publishers since 1999.
Which is it?

Re: D.F. Lewis

I couldn't resist this:

"Des Lewis is one of the most underrated writers in the history of the horror genre, and an absolute master of the short story. His fiction is labyrinthian-- there's no such thing as "a" D.F. Lewis story, because his prose is so gorged full of original ideas; ornate crawlings.
Do I sound passionate on the subject of D.F. Lewis's fiction? That's because his work is an inspiration. His work transcends the borders between poetry and prose, horror and mainstream, philosophy and psychosis.
If you want to go to places no author has ever taken you, read D.F. Lewis. He'll take you on an elegant dreamride. If you want to have your imagination woven into bizarre new shapes then D.F. Lewis is your spider."

From 'Weirdmonger' on Ebay - do you think the seller is simply saying above on HERE because he or she genuinely believes it? A joke. Course he or she believes it! Good luck to them.
But they're not even my best stories! imo

Re: D.F. Lewis

Des,I don't know who the seller on eBay is but the description on that auction is actually a quote from Paul Dracon's review of Weirdmonger from Amazon:

Quote
1 of 1 people found the following review helpful:
5.0 out of 5 stars D.F. Lewis: master of the bizarre, July 27, 2005
By Paul Dracon (United States) - See all my reviews
So nobody's reviewed this book yet. That's a sad commentary,
because this book is a modern dark fantasy classic, and a must-read.

Des Lewis is one of the most underrated writers in the history of the horror genre, and an absolute master of the short story. His fiction is labyrinthian-- there's no such thing as "a" D.F. Lewis story, because his prose is so gorged full of original ideas; ornate crawlings.

If you want to go to places no author has ever taken you, read D.F. Lewis. He'll take you on an elegant dreamride. If you want to have your imagination woven into bizarre new shapes then D.F. Lewis is your spider.

And by the way, this is also the ultimate writer's writer; so those of you who have your own weird fantasy aspirations would do well to get your grimy hands on this book.

Buy it.

Today.
