Clown warning issued in Middle Tennessee

A warning was given by the Tennessee Department of Safety and the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) on Saturday. The agencies took to Twitter posting, "Watch for clowns in your area. They could be child predators seeking kids" and "Watch for clowns trying to lure children into the woods. They are possibly predators."

Soon, hoaxers will provide us with photographic proof.

Of course, these clowns may simply be unfortunate alien abductees. After their free rectal exam, they may have been dressed as clowns and teleported back to earth. It may be the Aliens' subtle commentary on human nature.

I wonder if younger members are familiar with Lon Chaney Sr. observation on "the Clown at midnight"? It's as good a definition of the Uncanny as any I've ever encountered. Look it up.

I'm not a fan of Clive Barker but I always remembered "Dread." The first half was extremely powerful; the second, extremely silly. When you are promising to reveal the Ultimate in horror and it turns out to be yet another homicidal clown...well, 'nuff said.
It's the most uneven story I've ever read.
"The Damnation Game" was a good horror novel though.
