The Dicks

The Dicks rock. It's from the heart.

Re: The Dicks

Awesome. I've been going to more punk shows cos of Facebook, where I've come into contact with a my old scene gang, some of whom are still active musically. Lots of bands from the old days are re-grouping and gigging, & I'm going out to-morrow to punk until I puke. In my brain I'm still twenty-nine. It takes my body a couple of hours to convince me I'm almost sixty.

"We work in the dark -- we do what we can -- we give what we have. Our doubt is our passion and our passion is our task. The rest is the madness of art."

Re: The Dicks

This morning I had second thoughts and pulled the song files from the server. Although I doubt the band or record company would mind having them available for streaming, my host service provider might feel different. A previous HSP deleted my account and held the database hostage for a week due to commercial mp3 files being resident. I cannot afford to risk such folly again. I'll look for external links to these songs this weekend.

Re: The Dicks

The Dicks are, indeed, spectacular. There is a public MySpace page here (no MySpace membership required to access) with four streaming songs, including the classics "Hate the Police" and "I Hope Ya Get Drafted". And you can download a few MP3s - legally - from the Alternative Tentacles website here.

The first punk show I ever saw was The Dicks opening for Dead Kennedys in 1985. Not a stretch to say that night changed my life.
