Re: Still no "Mountains of Madness" movie
Did you not care for The Call Of Cthulhu (2005) or The Whisperer in Darkness (2011)? I enjoyed both, and appreciated what the producers were able to create on such limited budgets.

Re: Still no "Mountains of Madness" movie
I love both of them, and I would add Die Farbe (The Color Out of Space, 2010) to the list, among others.
Your fall should be like the fall of mountains. But I was before mountains. I was in the beginning, and shall be forever. The first and the last. The world come full circle. I am not the wheel. I am the hand that turns the wheel. I am Time, the Destroyer. I was the wind and the stars before this. Before planets. Before heaven and hell. And when all is done, I will be wind again, to blow this world as dust back into endless space. To me the coming and going of Man is as nothing.

Re: Still no "Mountains of Madness" movie
Call of Cthulhu and Die Farbe were decent enough efforts.
I thought The Whisperer in Darkness was bad, though I seem to be alone on that one. |

Re: Still no "Mountains of Madness" movie
The first half of The Whisperer in Darkness was just fine but the second half was a little disappointing and the last 20-30 minutes were somewhat silly. I liked The Call and give the folk connected to both films credit for their good intentions and their works, obviously labors of love. I enjoyed both films to a good extent.

Re: Still no "Mountains of Madness" movie
What about TV series? Likes of HBO would have no issues with providing big budgets and hiring well known actors, as well as having explicit sex and violence in there (for those of you who think that Lovecraft adaptation would somehow benefit from that).
"Mountains of Madness" would make for potentially great mini-series or single-season series.
