Sacred Music

http://www.harmoniamundi.com/#/albums?id=1419

I bought the box two days ago. It includes thirty cd's and i have listened six of them. The voices are so perfect that you hardly realize the absence of instruments. A must have for everyone who's interested in medieval music.

All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream..

Re: Sacred Music

Thanks for sharing that! It's been in my Amazon wish list for sometime. I plan to buy it with the DG "111" and Chandos "Milestones" box sets.

Re: Sacred Music

They're anniversary box sets from the two companies (111th for DG and 30th for Cahandos) but the price per disk is more than 50 pct off of what's regular, and there are several examples of sacred music for each. There's also an Harmonia Mundi 50th anniversary box set. Finally, there are year-round bargains from Naxos, and several are digital recordings.

Decca also came out with similar bargains (e.g., complete Haydn symphonies cond. by Dorati) at more than 60 pct off per disk. I think one collection of sacred music from that brand can be found in the Britten box set.
