Re: What is your favourite Smiths song?

Not an easy choice, but I'd have to go for 'That Joke Isn't Funny Any More'. Bitter, tender, comic and frightening all at once.

Re: What is your favourite Smiths song?

It varies according to mood, but quite possibly Pretty Girls Make Graves, or The Hand that Rocks the Cradle, or the juxtaposition of the two.

Absolutely candid, carefree, but straightforward speech becomes possible for the first time when one speaks of the highest." - Friedrich Schlegel

Re: What is your favourite Smiths song?

"....there's more to life than books you know, but not much more..."

When I die and lie in my bed gravely rotting
I'll reflect upon the fact
I saw The Smiths in their heyday
And I won't feel half so rotten.

Although 'Dream Me To Sleep' (the title under which I recall it) is moving, I prefer the earlier, life-affirming raunchiness of 'Handsome Devil' and 'What Difference Does It Make?' although I do admire the slinky poetic beauty of 'Reel Around The Fountain' and the haunting pathos of 'The Old House'.

Has anyone seen this?

What a coincidence! Especially considering the message I sent you no more than 10 minutes ago. Thanks, Dr.. Cheers!

Just noticed that well enough and opened up the thread by request, for the nonce - mind you.

More Smiths!
Autosuggested Interpretation
(this one accompanied live by plinking away on my wee Korg microKorg XL+)

Incidentally, I am painfully aware of the fact that I sing flat quite frequently.
