"The Truth, as Told by a Bottle of Liquid Morphine"
My story "The Truth, as Told by a Bottle of Liquid Morphine" is available now as Phantasmagorium's Weekly Offering. (Free fiction on their website, a new tale each week).
I thought you pessimistic s.o.b.s might dig it. ;)

Funny you should mention it. I am a literal s.o.b. ;)

That was a fantastic story, Nicole. Loved every moment of it.
I didn't know about this phantasmagorium place, I'll have to check it out, so double thanks to you, kind lady.

Re: "The Truth, as Told by a Bottle of Liquid Morphine"
I'm so glad you enjoyed the tale (and I'm excited you happened to find out about Phantasmagorium via lil ol' me!) Phantasmagorium is a print and ebook magazine established last year. At its founding, it was edited by Laird Barron. Now it's edited by Joe Pulver (print, ebook versions) and Edward Morris (website fiction). So, lots of literary horror, Ligotti-friendly peeps involved. I'm working my way through issue #1 on Kindle now. They just started doing the free "Weekly Offering" story on their website a few weeks ago (I think mine was the third or fourth). So, you can look forward to a new story on their website each Friday.

Like a Buddhist sand mandala, this story goes bye-bye later today (Friday 6/8), to be replaced by another story. Last call before it dissolves into ash...

I enjoyed this. Quite an unusual point of view, obviously -- that's sort of the point, right?
It's the first thing I've read by you, Nicole, but I'll seek out more. Everybody, follow that link before the story disappears! Mike

Re: "The Truth, as Told by a Bottle of Liquid Morphine"
I'm so glad I had time to read this story before its disappearance into the vast cyberspace. I have to admit that I have an antipathy toward reading things from the screen, but this story hooked me so strong that the format didn't bother me at all. It was a fantastic, original story. And neither I had discovered this Phantasmagorium magazine before this. Many thanks, Nicole!

Re: "The Truth, as Told by a Bottle of Liquid Morphine"
Okay...I thought the story would be gone by last Friday (because it's a "Weekly Offering" and the way they've worked for the past several weeks is to offer a new story each Friday). But it seems to be still up there. Don't know for how long. I'll email them and get clarification.
Sorry to create a sense of false urgency. Totally unintentional. Oh, and thanks to all of those who mentioned they enjoyed the story!

Looks like the story will be up there for an indefinite period of time (could be off of there soon, could be off of there not-so-soon). So, likely no rush to check it out now.
