Re: An Unusual Guitar
The guitar Bob Dylan played in the beginning. The J-45 and J-50 are the same, just different finishes. The burst J-45 is my favorite acoustic, hands down.

Re: An Unusual Guitar
I just got my guitar back today. I had a Dimarzio 36th Anniversary PAF installed in the neck, with an odd tone-knob mod that activates the humbucker at 9, but splits it at 10. Not sure if I like it yet, but it's pretty versatile. I've also been told that this particular guitar has a neck profile that is slightly thicker than G & L's standard offerings. So I guess that sort of makes it rare, haha. It's very meat and potatoes, which is why I love it. Sounds and plays beautifully.

Re: An Unusual Guitar
Thanks, man. Those 36th Anniversary's are really very sweet and subtle. One of the things I was worried about was having a humbucker in there that would overpower the single coil in the bridge, but this guy really just adds a touch of mid-thump and an overall rounder quality to the neck. It compliments the single coil really well. I'm really impressed with it. | |||||||||||

Re: An Unusual Guitar
Neat glimpse inside of Shot Jackson's guitar store, circa 1960s. At about 2:08 Shot casually mentions a Guild Merle Travis Solomaster on the counter.
