Happy Halloween

I hope everyone had a pleasant Halloween. I watched the brilliant film by Robert Eggers,The Witch , and a past favorite, Dark Night of the Scarecrow again.

Great song.

Ah, a gentleman of refined taste in cinematic horror. My wife and I had a friend over for coffee, candy, and viewings of Roger Corman's excellent Tales of Terror (1962) and Carnival of Souls (1962). A truly enjoyable all hallows eve!

Re: Happy Halloween

I spent the evening watching "The Old Dark House" on TCM. Boris Karloff played Morgan, a character equal parts Frankenstein and The Mummy. If you're ever in the mood for an old movie, I highly recommend.

I read J.B. Priestly's Benighted, which this film is based upon, and I can wholeheartedly recommend the book as well. Valancourt has a rather nice edition of this with the original cover artwork from 1927, which is worth the price alone in my opinion:
