Did TL ever actually "work" in industry?

Seeing as he hails from Detroit, the home of many car manufacturers, I was wondering if anyone knew if Thomas ever worked in the manufacturing industry?

Maybe a first job to earn money for college, something like that?

The reason I ask is because I previously worked in the auto-parts manufacturing industry for about five years, and I know it very well.

If TL never actually worked there he sure has some amazing insights into what it is actually like, and what it feels like to be a part of it. Last night I read "Our Temporary Supervisor" and was literally shocked and jaw-dropped at some of the emotions and feelings it stirred in me from my time spent in that job.

Amazing!

Was this before you became a homicide detective?

I work in a call center, a big cubicle farm near the interstate, and I could also relate really well to that story and the other workplace-horror stories. I think the tedium, not knowing the reasoning behind certain tasks but doing them anyway because it is the job, etc can be found in a wide variety of workplaces.

Of course he did. He worked at Gale Research for about 23 years, and knows what life in the cubicle is all about.
