Re: Samuels, "Written in Darkness" available
Very cool to see both Mark and Quentin in the virtual flesh!

I like the subliminal 'Out There' for 'Get Out'. CS Lewis and the Numinous Is in assonance with DF Lewis and the Nemonymous But that's me being an upstart. I am visiting Snape today for a rousing English Vaughan Williams concert. Enjoyed the interview. Avuncular about Weird Fiction.

Re: Samuels, "Written in Darkness" available
Vaughan Williams has particular resonance for me at the moment, but unfortunately, I'm not sure I can go into why. Anyway, it reminds me I have some e-mails to write in that connection.

At Snape now... White Hats, not White Hands! Post by Facebook Posts. [MS cast me as the ludicrous figure of Mr Snape in 'The Face of Twilight'. But the fact I recognised him as such says something, I suppose.]

Re: Samuels, "Written in Darkness" available
A new story by Mark Samuels, that had, right from the start, an aura - via the male narrator working in his relative youth at a theatrical publishers - of Reggie Oliver, and at the end, I finally saw that the story is dedicated to Reggie. A satire dealing with tradition versus experiment in the theatre, the time-bending journeys from London to Cornwall, a vaguely unrequited romance with a woman who gets her own negative requital at the end, the nice touch of a Powysian amphitheatre built into a Cornish cliff, and a reprise of Dr Prozess from another story I read recently, and I was rather taken with the Brechtian drama production that induced such audience alienation. I wish I could have seen it.
