J.R. Hamantaschen's interview and review podcast

J.R. Hamantaschen, author of collections You Shall Never Know Security and With A Voice That Is Often Still Confused But Is Becoming Ever Louder And Clearer, and the novella Faithfully And Lovingly, has a podcast with a guy called Derek Sotak (who is a nacho specialist).

Interviews with Daniel Mills (he's interviewed twice), Brett Talley, Ian Rogers, Michael Wehunt, Lydia Peever, Chad Fifer, Matthew M Bartlett, Clint Smith, David Nickle and Sean M Thompson.

During interviews Hamantaschen frequently discusses the ethics of having children and the motivation to write small press fiction.

JR and Derek are unusually frank with their opinions for this type of podcast with other writers. They spend four episodes giving Nicolay's first collection a negative review (which seems way too long to spend on a book you don't care for). Too many trashy films reviewed for my taste but I'm enjoying the show.

After you press play on one of the podcasts, sometimes it takes as long as a minute and a half to start, so keep that in mind.

I haven't listened to that podcast, but I can sorta sympathize with them. I didn't HATE that Nicolay collection, but my own experience with it was certainly quite a bit removed from that insane amount and level of praise that it received.
