Re: I miss Mark Samuels

He's banned? I thought he just flounced. I wish he were back, as well.

Re: I miss Mark Samuels

I also miss Mr Samuels. He always made me feel appreciated, however, I'm guessing he knew the rules as well as any of us and that the banning was acceptable to his principles. He struck me as an honest and forthright individual and would have know and accepted the consequences of his actions. In saying that, I too would welcome his return.

Re: I miss Mark Samuels

I miss Mark Samuels. Not seen him for a few years. Actually, I first met him in 1987.
I'm sure Mark will be back here sooner or later. I hope so. I don't always agree with every thing my friends say or do, but Electronic forums can lead to false interfaces between people and unintended misunderstandings. Not worth dwelling on them for long.
I'd like to see Dr Bantham back here. And how is GS Carnivals? Hope they are both well. And anybody else who left TLO recently.

Re: I miss Mark Samuels

Because of health reason, I’m going to ‘ban’ myself from posting for the next few weeks. But it’s not easy. And seeing this thread I just had to make a quick post…hopefully the last for a bit.
I think this site had become somewhat of a distraction for Mark. I’m not arrogant enough to assume that statement is true, but that’s my gut feeling.
There are two kinds of writers: the ones who must write and suffer when they can’t, and the writer who will do anything to avoid facing a blank sheet of paper. T.E.D. Klein was one of the latter. That guy wrote brilliant stuff and I miss his stories to this day,
Maybe Samuels is somewhere in between, had an understanding of this and decided to remove the distraction to his creativity in a very definitive way. He really seemed to want to be banned. If the end result is a handful of stories that might not otherwise have been written, I think we will all agree that it was worth it.
Take it from me: It’s hard to stop posting.

I think symbolique and Des summed it up quite well.

P.S. I hope you feel better, Druidic.

Re: I miss Mark Samuels

For what it's worth, the ban on Mark has been lifted, and I invited him back yesterday. Things have cooled off here nicely I think, and I hope Mark will return when/if he has time and is so inclined.

Thanks for the kind words.

Sadly, there is not presently any more work of mine published. I'm a terribly slow writer. I do have a writing project in the works, though, but whether that goes anywhere or not is anyone's guess.

Re: ---

The Trump thread is both bad and good. Something you can dip into as a sign of Azathoth walking among us or ignore by never clicking on it.
I started it as a literary thing.
