What are your must have ebooks?

Hi everyone,
I finally decided to join everyone in the 21st century, mainly because my family got me a Kindle Fire for my birthday on Tuesday. My question is this: Besides Tom's works, what are your personal "Must Have" list of ebooks?

Re: What are your must have ebooks?

Why do you think that by having ebooks you are all of a sudden on the 21st century? Many books will never be available on ebook format.

I would suggest the complete works by H. P. Lovecraft.

If you like J. L. Borges, there is also a book by Naguib Mahfouz, "The Time and The Place and Other Stories" that you can read several times without getting bored.

Also, this book by Jean Ray, "My Own Private Spectres". It can be found (illegally) free on the web on pdf format.

I know who you are

Ebooks that I never leave home without, because they are on my phone:

Adam Levin: The Instructions
Bret Easton Ellis: Lunar Park, Imperial Bedrooms
Stephen King: The Shining, Salem's Lot
Mark Bittman: How To Cook Everything

Re: What are your must have ebooks?

  1. Laird Barron's 2 collections, novel, & novella;
  2. Complete works of Poe & Lovecraft;
  3. Much classic horror is free (or 99c): Arthur Machen, Ambrose Bierce, Algernon Blackwood, M R James;
  4. Cold to the Touch - Simon Strantzas;
  5. (non-horror) I'm a huge Vonnegut fan - they have just about everything! CHG

Re: What are your must have ebooks?

There are the books you read, and afterward there are the books that change your life. We can all think back on the books that have formed our point of view on legislative issues, religion, cash, and affection. Some will even turn into a wellspring of motivation for whatever is left of your life.
