I live within the area of Scotland currently under a 'Red Alert' warning for the severity of the snow, so I can confirm this meme is wholly accurate.

Some sign of cosmic or divine wrath from the East, as a punishing #Brexit.

I had just started going out on walks while listening to reconstructions of the missing episodes of The Avengers Season 1. Gutted.

Do I detect the presence of another Big Finish listener, by any chance?

Yeah. I don't generally follow their Doctor Who ranges any more, but I'm hooked on The Avengers, Dark Shadows and countless other stuff. Their Sapphire & Steel audios were probably my favourite.

Their Doctor Who audios have in the past been wonderful efforts in their own right, including what I still hold to be the finest Doctor Who story in any medium; Robert Shearman's 'The Chimes of Midnight'. These days however, the main range of Doctor Who audios seems hamstrung by a total lack of ambition, seeming happy to pander to the most vapid strains of nostalgia, rather than to tell the challenging and often times experimental stories which marked the first few years of Big Finish output.

Rob Shearman is the best Doctor Who writer across all media, and those first few years of the main range were really something. I'm sure they still make some good stuff, but I'm not the fan I was of the franchise in general.

I'm currently viewing S02, the episodes with Honor Blackman. I am struck with how fierce Cathy Gale is.
