Re: What book are you most looking forward to?

Count me in for Stenbock. I've got the Durtro edition of his collected poems and have only read a few of his short stories but they had such an impact on me.

One book I've been anticipating for a while now is Daniel Schulke's forthcoming The Green Mysteries. The Green Mysteries - Three Hands Press I rank him as my favourite living occult author.

2018 is the most optimistic date for it at this point.

The most important book to be released this year will be Pleasant Tales by Brendan Connell, due in November. This book should put the final nail in the coffin of so-called 'Weird Fiction' which at this point is an outdated marketing category and an outdated approach to writing, pursued mostly by White Dads...it is to be hoped that more writers will pursue more pleasant themes instead.

I've never been comfortable with the idea that conflict is the only thing worth writing stories about so I'm curious if that will really just be about people having a good time.

Totally agree, Beakripped! Ever snce Viridarium Umbris, I've held Schulke in the highest esteem. Probably like you, I ordered The Green Mysteries as soon as it went up for sale, and have been anticipating its publication ever since.

Have you read his Thirteen Pathways of Occult Herbalism yet? Just published this week by the same press, it's supposed to serve as an intro of sorts to the forthcoming Green Mysteries.

Did most of the writers on this forum suddenly have children and then the non-white and/or female ones mutate into white men?

Conflict is a vulgar engine...the Pleasant has moved beyond it.

Re: What book are you most looking forward to?

First and foremost, Stefan Grabinski's entry in the Masters of the Weird Tale series from Centipede Press.

I'm also on the bandwagon for Count Stenbock - and wondering if Strange Attractor is releasing a hard cover edition?

Aside from that, still waiting for Twisted Spoon to print Witkacy's Narcotics and Jindrich Styrsky's Dreamverse.
