Re: Last TV show you watched
I am going through HBO mystery/drama The Leftovers, which is superb so far. I hope we don't get any answers as to what is going on behind the curtain.

Re: Last TV show you watched
I last watched Leverage. It was recommended to me as a good example of the genre "competence porn", which intrigued me. However, I found the lack of actual competence and hand-wavy execution disappointing. I only watched the pilot, so if this shows get markedly better, let me know.

Re: Last TV show you watched
Please, please, watch "River" on Netflix. It is a really good UK cop-drama about an older detective with some mental issues. The end was brutal.
Also, watch Rectify. A show loosely based on the case of Damien Echolls from the West Memphis Three.

Re: Last TV show you watched
The same can be said about Rectify. This is a well-made show, good acting and writing, but it is a straight drama. I can see why people like this, but it is not for me.

Speaking of True Detective. Have you seen the documentary called "conspiracy of silence"?

Re: Last TV show you watched
This reminds me: I am very interested in the many recommendations in this thread, so it would be helpful if people would mention where they are watching the shows they mention.

Re: Last TV show you watched
Yeah, it is not exactly about True Detective, but I would not be at all surprised if Pizzolato used this specific case as research. It is not a glamorous topic at all, it is about a child molesting ring that included a lot of higher ups in the government. If you liked the crime part of True Detective then you might like this documentary as well. Be aware though, there are some pretty rough interviews there. It is up on youtube.
