Request for Information

Hello.

I remember some time back that someone on this site provided links to a bizarre true story about a German doctor (an imposter, apparently), who 'saved' the life of a young lady in some place to which he had emigrated, only to have her die a little later, by which time he had gained the trust of her family, and access to her tomb... And so all the elements were in place for a love story transcending the boundaries of life and death... Or something like that.

I am seriously considering novelising this story, but I can't find the links now. I wonder if anyone could help me?

This is quite a story, Quentin. Truth stranger than fiction?

is just too good to be true. It reminds me of a thing I wrote that was published in Strange Attractor Journal no.2 and called Cesare Thodol (long before I was acquainted with this factual event). The Case of Dr Von Cosel would certainly make a brilliant tribute story. Damn you Quentin! :-)

All best

"This is quite a story, Quentin. Truth stranger than fiction?"

Thanks for the link. Yes, something about it captured my sick imagination. I don't know when I'll actually get around to it, though, as I still have a number of pieces waiting to be finished.

Hello Mark.

Yes, too good to be true, indeed. I hardly think I'll need to change the story at all, though I think I will change the setting, as I don't know anything about Key West or Florida.
