Suicide Club

I didn't realize that there was a whole subforum for horror movies. Apologies for posting this elsewhere.

This is a really horrific and draining experience. The movie begins with 50 Japanese schoolgirls jumping in front of a train and it gets progressively more disturbing and deranged with every minute.

There is this dark, hidden entity or force that seems to be engineering what is occurring and part of what we're doing watching the movie is trying to find out what is causing the Suicides and if anything can stop it.

This movie is challenging for non-Japanese folks (like me) because so many of the themes in this movie are VERY Japanese. If you do see this movie and feel completely out of the loop, there's a fascinating essay on this film in Snowblood Apple (if you're looking for info on Asian Horror cinema look no further).

Highly recommended, even though it is very difficult to understand at times.
