Re: Movie Recommendations

These are the two movies I have rewatched the most, along with The Godfather trilogy:

Your fall should be like the fall of mountains. But I was before mountains. I was in the beginning, and shall be forever. The first and the last. The world come full circle. I am not the wheel. I am the hand that turns the wheel. I am Time, the Destroyer. I was the wind and the stars before this. Before planets. Before heaven and hell. And when all is done, I will be wind again, to blow this world as dust back into endless space. To me the coming and going of Man is as nothing.

Re: Movie Recommendations

@miguel1984: I tried to watch that version of Macbeth, I could not. Kenneth Branagh's movements seem full of brashness and noise (I guess he was playing that angle). I found Macbeth's modern adaptation with Sir Patrick Stewart as the titular man himself much closer to my mind.

This is one of my favorite Asian horror of all time. I recommend watching the complete movie and not the short segment in 3 Extremes.

Watch 3 Extremes too while you are at it (after Dumplings though), since it is a compilation of 3 separate works done by Fruit Chan, Park-chan-wook (known for Oldboy), and Takashi Miike.

"Tell me how you want to die, and I'll tell you who you are. In other words, how do you fill out an empty life? With women, books, or worldly ambitions? No matter what you do, the starting point is boredom, and the end self-destruction. The emblem of our fate: the sky teeming with worms. Baudelaire taught me that life is the ecstasy of worms in the sun, and happiness the dance of worms."

I will check it out. I heard Sir Ian McKellen's version is great too.

Re: Movie Recommendations -The Wailing

Apologies if this has already been posted - this review on Vox of the xenophobic Korean horror film, "The Wailing," is quite intriguing.

is the most unsettling Korean horror film in years, but it offers more chills than answers - Vox

I watch the trailer, and it seems interesting. There seems to be alot of hype, let's hope it's justified.

I recommend watching this short piece in the trio Goosebumps from Japan 2. In case the video gets taken down, search for The Devilish Conclusion Beckoned By Someone's Umbrella

This is part 1, I like part 3 the best but it got taken down. If you like to see more, look for An Obsessive Intention and the Reality of One's Demise in the future.

Not the most celebrated of Mamoru Oshii's films, but my personal favorite.

Re: Movie Recommendations

Watching HANNIBAL (2001) again.

A truly frightening movie imho.
