'Noah'

Anyone seen 'Noah'?

Just been to see it. Good enjoyable, B-Movie style tripe with lots of fun misanthropy and antinatalist sentiments. Strong performance from Crowe. And pleased to see the ending remained faithful to the Bible, as Noah gets s**t-faced drunk by himself, seeking relief in alcohol induced oblivion....

Re: 'Noah'

Didn't expected that, I had every reason to ignore it except for Aronofsky.

I knew that someday I was gonna die / And I knew before I died Two things would happen to me / That number one I would regret my entire life / And number two I would want to live my life over again.

Re: 'Noah'

I enjoyed Noah, too. For those who haven't heard -- and here's a mild spoiler warning ("mild" because this point is discussed in many of the available reviews of the film) -- the antinatalist stuff Malone refers to comes in the form of Noah's belief that ark is intended to save only the animals, and that the Creator (the only name used for the deity throughout the film), who is thoroughly disgusted with humankind because of what they have done to the world, intends for the flood to wipe them out completely, including Noah and his family. At one point Noah explicitly states his belief that the Creator regrets having made humans in the first place and wants to use the flood to start over with a new and perfect world, which will be perfect precisely because there will be no people to screw it up.

Re: 'Noah'

Although many will say the ending is the usual cop-out, I also liked the fact that it's hinted that thanks to Ham's departure the whole horrible nightmare of human greed and violence will resume again, a suspicion verified by looking out my window;)

Another Biblical story that doesn't make sense to me. If GM makes a faulty product who is to blame: GM or the car?

Re: 'Noah'

-The best song ever written about Noah, imo:

God reached his hands down from the sky; God asked Noah if he wanted to die?
He said "No, sir! Oh, no sir!" God said, "Here's your future: it's gonna rain."
